Another Week

This weekend was a bull futurity in Asheville, NC. Jimmy was supposed to have a FYRA rodeo this weekend. But it rained so much, the directors decided they didn't want to swim in the arena. So we went up to Asheville for a SEBRA/NABA/ABC event. SEBRA (Southern Extreme Bull Riding Association) along with NABA (North American Bullriding Association) hosted Bullmania in Asheville, NC at the Western Agriculture Center. ABC (American Bull Competition) also hosted the futurity. There were bulls of all ages there for the event. Only 2 riders rode out on Friday, and 1 on Saturday. The bulls were bringing it.

Jimmy ran and played the entire weekend. He had so much fun. He also picked up a sponsor while we were there. Outlaw Hat Company has agreed to sponsor Jimmy for the 2009 Season. Wait for a link to his website over the next few weeks! Beaver and Beaver Blend custom hats are made at Outlaw Hat Co. by Speedy Russom. Give him a call at (423) 647-2000. Help him help support the sport of rodeo, and cowboys all over the south east.

Practice pen

We went to Jimmy's practice pen yesterday. He rides at Hillside Arena in Morganton, NC for practice. They don't give points or award money, which disappoints him. They do give ribbons, which at first he thought was pretty cool. Now the novelty has worn off. He rides and "tries" until his head hits the ground.

We went to a local (60 minutes away) store today for a new set of boots. I bought the last pair for him in October (really his Mimi bought them). They are worn out! This is a child who has to wear boots everyday. In fact he get very upset if he has to wear anything else. He also got a rope.

Our friend, who is a championship roper, has agreed to give us all lessons. (He doesn't know that he's giving the entire family lessons yet...surprise!! Love you Robbie.) Next month Littlest starting his riding lessons. He rides his pony well, except when he actually has to drive her. Then he just kinda tries. Littlest doesn't know how to drive his horse yet, he's just a passenger right now.

But enough for today. Goodness, I'll run out of stuff to blog about.

First Day

Today's the first day for this blog. The Littlest Cowboy is Jimmy Causby. He's a tough 3 year old cowboy who rides sheep. He's proud of his ability and know how to get the job done. He rides with Foothills Youth Rodeo Association, and this year is striving to win the Mutton Bustin' Buckle. He has been riding sheep since he was 2 years old. He's won several rodeos with Foothills and at local arenas. Come visit him at any Foothills Event, Mike Price's Arena, and Hillside Arena. He's the Littlest Cowboy with the Biggest "Try".
